I captured this urban landscape with a Fuji Digital Medium Format Camera and a Contax 645 120mm Planar lens.

The Zilwaukee Bridge is a high-level, segmental concrete bridge spanning the Saginaw River in the state of Michigan. This image was taken facing south under span 5 of this beautiful bridge. On the day, clouds were building ahead of what turned out to be a two day string of strong thunderstorms. This lighting had just softened enough through the clouds a Canadian forest fire haze to capture this image with details intact. The lighting was low enough to use a higher ISO to enhance the grain and provide a more textured and “gritty” final image. The substantial piers supporting the looming wide deck of the bridge create a sense of movement which my eye always finds appealing.

As is normal with my urban landscapes, I carefully composed this urban intimate landscape with a wider angle lens and then captured eight detailed images to produce the final large format 5:4 aspect ratio print file. Massive print sizes to 56″ x 70″ are critically sharp at extremely close viewing distances.

Limited Edition, fine art black and white photographic print, “Under Interstate 75 #25”, of the Zilwaukee Bridge that spans the Saginaw River in Michigan. This image was shot in Fuji digital medium format with a Contax 645 120mm Planar Lens.

 Print sizes to 56″ x 70″, and larger, are critically sharp at extremely close viewing distances. All images are what I saw with only color, brightness, shadow and contrast & local light and shadow adjustments, just as I did in the darkroom. 

This is a museum quality fine art print in black and white.

    Included in Your Print Purchase:

  • Pricing includes the print only, shipped flat to 16 x 20 or rolled in a tube mailer for larger sizes.

    • Framing, Presentation and Preservation:

  • All prints will require a frame, glass and backing material that matches print size. (Frames usually come 1/8” oversized to accommodate the glass, print and backing, please verify.)
  • Borderless Framing (meaning no cut matboard): All prints include a white border containing the number and signature.
  • Again, the white borders of the print assure that a cut mat board is not required for framing an Archival Print.
  • Acid Free white foamcore is a good choice for backing in .25” thickness. An Acid Free matboard is optional between the backer board and the print.
  • Glass Options (“the Glazing”): Classic AR Glass, Museum Glass or other UV glass or a UV Acrylic as the “Glazing” (again meaning Glass) is highly recommended for UV protection and to protect the print. Classic AR Glass and Museum Glass are Anti-Reflective which greatly enhances viewing the print.
  • No spray or coating is required or recommended on any of our prints, please refrain from any such treatment.
