“Pemigewasset River #7”, in Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire, is offered as a color fine art landscape print, signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity. I captured this subject in Fuji digital medium format with Contax 645 120mm Planar lens.

This trip to Franconia notch was magical. The light, fog and stillness were a striking contradiction as the sound of 100 plus mile an hour winds up higher created a faint but audible “roar” to the gentle calm in the notch. The very fitting name of this river, the “Pemigewasset” comes from an Abenaki word loosely meaning “swift current and where the side entering current is.” Members of this Algonquin tribe had traversed, camped and traveled this river for centuries and I can only imagine what it looked like when it was flanked by pure virgin old growth forest.

This fine art landscape image is one of many captured of the swift flowing stream near its headwaters. On this trip, the entire landscape was soaked from low clouds appearing as fog. Everything was aglow with subtle to saturated colors, the pure flowing water had a slight turquoise tint to it and the surrounding mature forest was “lush”. There was near perfect lighting for this image and others of this beautiful stream and the surrounding trees.

The substantial granite boulder in the foreground, textured and awash the earth tones offered a stark contrast between the flowing water made soft by a four second exposure. I intentionally selected a slightly shallower depth of field to render the boulder perfectly sharp while the the background was allowed to soften ever so slightly. After framing the image with wide angle test images, I captured the nice separate images that comprise this stunning and detailed digital print file.

The image is true, correct as to the colors and in every detail. Even the leaf in the center foreground is “true”; the Great Spirit must have placed it there since I never add or eliminate elements from my intimate landscapes.

This limited Edition Print will be Signed and Numbered. Pricing includes the print only with a white border and includes free shippimassiveng unless otherwise noted. This Print Requires Framing (see detailed info below).

Description

“Pemigewasset River #7”, photographed in Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire, is offered as a limited edition, fine art color photographic print. I captured this subject in Fuji digital medium format with Contax 645 120mm Planar lens.

The image was formed from 9 separate images stitched together assuring that print sizes to 40 x 50 (and much larger) are critically sharp at extremely close viewing distances in the final print. All images are as I saw them and imaged with only color, brightness, shadow and contrast & local light and shadow adjustments, just as I did in the darkroom with zero AI influence.

This is a museum quality fine art print in Color.

  • Pricing includes the print only, shipped flat to 16 x 20 or rolled in a tube mailer for larger sizes.

  • Again, the white borders of the print assure that a cut mat board is not required for framing an Archival Print.
