We all Bleed the Same Color, Fine Art Photographic Print from 4×5 Film

Price range: $160.00 through $850.00

All images and content copyright Archival Prints LLC and Skip Gleichman.
“We all Bleed the Same Color” is offered as a custom fine art black and white photographic print, signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity.

I captured this image in 4×5 film, an Ebony 4×5 view camera and Rodenstock Sironar S 135mm lens and professionally drum scanned for the highest quality print file.

This image was captured under an abandoned iron ore dock in Ashland, Wisconsin on Lake Superior. While this structure is technically not a “bridge”, in that it does not cross anything, it was built to support the train cars that loaded iron ore into the fleet of freighters bound for the industrial centers of the lower Great Lakes ports. This incredible Iron Ore Dock, constructed in the early 20th century, no longer exists.

This image was among my first of photographed structures such as this and led to my “under the bridge” collection of images and prints. I captured this image in large format film during a side trip during a photography trip to the old growth forests and cascades in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula and remains a personal favorite. The stunning convergence, light and shadow, contrast and the partially hidden graffiti that is responsible the image title all add to my cherishing this image. In both the darkroom and in Ink-Jet, this image is among my most popular prints.

This limited Edition Print will be Signed and Numbered. Pricing includes the print only with a white border and includes free shipping unless otherwise noted. This Print Requires Framing (see detailed info below).

Description

Limited Edition, fine art black and white photographic print, “We all Bleed the Same Color”, of the interior on an abandoned Iron Ore Dock in Ashland, WI.

I photographed this abandoned, and now non-existent Iron Ore Dock in Black and White 4×5 film, Ebony 4×5 view camera and Rodenstock Sironar S 135mm lens and professionally drum scanned for the highest quality print file. Print sizes to 48 x 60 (and much larger) are critically sharp at extremely close distances. All images are what I saw and imaged with only color, brightness, shadow and contrast & local light and shadow adjustments, just as I did in the darkroom.

This is a museum quality fine art print in black and white.

    Included in Your Print Purchase:

  • Pricing includes the print only, shipped flat to 16 x 20 or rolled in a tube mailer for larger sizes.
  • Framing, Presentation and Preservation:

  • All prints will require a frame, glass and backing material that matches print size. (Frames usually come 1/8” oversized to accommodate the glass, print and backing, please verify.)
  • Borderless Framing (meaning no cut mat board): All prints include a white border containing the number and signature.
  • Again, the white borders of the print assure that a cut mat board is not required for framing an Archival Print.
  • Acid Free white foam core is a good choice for backing in .25” thickness. An Acid Free mat board is optional between the backer board and the print.
  • Glass Options (“the Glazing”): Classic AR Glass, Museum Glass or other UV glass or a UV Acrylic as the “Glazing” (again meaning Glass) is highly recommended for UV protection and to protect the print. Classic AR Glass and Museum Glass are Anti-Reflective which greatly enhances viewing the print.
  • No spray or coating is required or recommended on any of our prints, please refrain from any such treatment.
  • Other Framing Options: We can help with the framing in several molding styles and glazing options or steer you in the right direction for the perfect framing materials that assure archival print endurance.
