“Iron Ore Ledge and Cascade #3” is offered as a custom fine art color photographic print, signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity.

I captured this subject in 4×5 transparency film with an Ebony 4×5 view camera and 180mm APO Rodenstock Sironar S APO lens @ f32 with a 2 second long exposure in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

This image along with others in both black & white and color was taken of the cascades of the Cisco Branch in the Michigan UP. This intimate landscape is a tight composition of the substantial rock formation with flowing water in the background, softened by a long exposure. The pure cascading water, tinged yellow with tannins as is common in the north-woods, offers a wonderful contrast to the starkness of the rock ledge. This image, printed in color and b&w are popular prints and both are extremely detailed and critically sharp in any sized print.

There is a Black and White landscape that I captured with B&W film right after this color image, Iron Ore ledge and Cascades #4 was shot with TMax 100.

“Iron Ore Ledge and Cascade #3” is offered as a limited edition, fine art Color photographic print. I captured this subject in Kodak E100SW 4×5 transparency film with an Ebony 4×5 view camera and 180mm Rodenstock Sironar S lens in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The drum scan of the 4×5 transparency assures print sizes to 56 x 70 (and larger) are critically sharp at extremely close viewing distances. All images are as I saw them and imaged with only color, brightness, shadow and contrast & local light and shadow adjustments, just as I did in the darkroom. 

This is a museum quality fine art print in Color. 

    Included in Your Print Purchase:

  • Pricing includes the print only, shipped flat to 16 x 20 or rolled in a tube mailer for larger sizes.

    • Framing, Presentation and Preservation:

  • All prints will require a frame, glass and backing material that matches print size. (Frames usually come 1/8” oversized to accommodate the glass, print and backing, please verify.)
  • Borderless Framing (meaning no cut mat board): All prints include a white border containing the number and signature.
  • Again, the white borders of the print assure that a cut mat board is not required for framing an Archival Print.
  • Acid Free white foam core is a good choice for backing in .25” thickness. An Acid Free mat board is optional between the backer board and the print.
  • Glass Options (“the Glazing”): Classic AR Glass, Museum Glass or other UV glass or a UV Acrylic as the “Glazing” (again meaning Glass) is highly recommended for UV protection and to protect the print. Classic AR Glass and Museum Glass are Anti-Reflective which greatly enhances viewing the print.
  • No spray or coating is required or recommended on any of our prints, please refrain from any such treatment.
